All Simpsons SNES Games Ranked

The Simpsons Video Games have found their way onto almost every game console for all generations. From masterpieces like Simpsons Hit & Run to disgraces like Simpsons Wrestling, it can safely be said that most gamers have played at least one Simpsons game in their lifetime.

The Super Nintendo had four Simpsons video games, and we’re going to rank them from worst to best!

4. The Itchy & Scratchy Game

Current Value: $25-$27

This is the least memorable of The Simpsons video games released on retro consoles and rightfully so; the Simpsons family isn’t even in it! It also has a tasteless soundtrack, noticeable bugs, and awful jumping mechanics. There are seven levels in this game, each requiring you to kill Scratchy; that’s basically the entire story. For those who enjoyed this game, we recommend Tom & Jerry for the SNES for similar gameplay.

3. Virtual Bart

Current Value: $35-$39

Bart discovers a virtual reality exhibit at the school science fair. He gets stuck in the virtual world and must pass all levels to escape the machine. In order to win, players must complete all levels with all lives remaining.

Although this game is better than the Itchy & Scratchy Game, it still falls into the unmemorable category. The game is basically a mash-up of underwhelming mini-games transposed with Simpsons characters.

2. Krusty’s Super Funhouse

Current Value: $15-$18

This was more of a puzzle game than a platformer; players were required to complete mazes by using rats. The player controls Krusty the Clown, who must lead the rats to an extermination device controlled by Bart, Homer, Corporal Punishment and Sideshow Mel. If you like puzzle games, then this game is definitely worth a try!

1. The Simpsons: Bart’s Nightmare

Current Value: $20-$23

This installment was a welcome improvement from previous Simpsons games. Bart falls asleep while doing his homework, and must journey through several nightmare stages. Each stage has unique gameplay, including the fan favorite Bartzilla (green door) and Itchy & Scratchy (yellow door) stages. The player is awarded a page of Bart’s homework each time a stage is successfully completed. In order to win the game, the player must earn a letter grade of “C” or better.

We highly recommend The Simpsons: Bart’s Nightmare, as we believe it’s one of the best Simpsons games to be released on retro consoles!
